​The Wright School of Dance

Our award-winning Competition Team offers dedicated dancers the opportunity to grow technically, perform confidently, and compete in a supportive, high-energy environment. We offer four levels of competition in Jazz/Lyrical/Hip Hop, Beginner Tap, and Tap/Character 2 & 3, allowing dancers to be challenged and inspired at every stage of their journey.

 

Audition Process

    1.    Dancers must attend a summer workshop in any genre they are auditioning for.

    2.    At the close of the workshop, audition videos are submitted to judges.

    3.    Class placements are emailed following evaluations.

 

Requirements

    •    Must register for competition classes and any required technique classes (Jazz Tech and/or Strength).

    •    Must attend ballet classes and jazz technique if enrolled in Jazz/Lyrical/Hip Hop.

    •    Dancers in Jazz/Lyrical/Hip Hop levels 2–4 are also required to take Acrobatics.

    •    Must participate in all scheduled competitions throughout the school year.

    •    Attend extra classes for choreography (TBD).

    •    Open to dancers in 1st–12th grade.

 

We offer fundraising to help with costs for competition. 

 

Our competition dancers not only gain advanced training—they also build discipline, teamwork, and confidence that carry over into every part of life. This program is perfect for dancers ready to take their passion to the next level in a focused and encouraging environment.
